Designed by Karl Litten this course opened in 1992 and is carved out of melaleuca swamps and bushland.

Karl Litten is rated as one of the top ten designers in the world. He considers the Capricorn Resort Yeppoon Championship Course a gem, “It really has to be one of the top 5 world class courses I have ever designed and I have now designed more than 100 over a period of about
25 years. I rank it with my course in Dubai in the Middle East, the first ever desert golf course there, 2 in Florida and 1 in Japan.”

The first 9 is played through melaleuca bushland with plenty of nature walks for the wayward shot. The back 9 is the watery 9, built over, around and along all shapes and sizes of water hazards.

Par is 72 over a distance of 7,154 yards from the blue tees. Four of the holes are par 5,
with the 15th hole boasting no less than 15 sand traps over a distance of 519 yards as it curves around a water course.

“This is a true test of golf and without doubt one of the best golf courses I have ever played. I have played tournament golf throughout Asia and North America and would still class the Championship Course layout in my top 5. Every tee shot has you thinking and offers a totally new challenge. This is the most underated golf course in Australia.
